Mica and I wolfed our Croque Madames and guzzled down our Chardonnays. We were famished from the morning's sightseeing from Sacre Coeur down the streets of enchanting Montmarte—the fave haunt of impressionists such as Picasso, Van Gogh, and Renoir.


"What if, Picasso joined us for a latte?" we giggled.

Before our giggles turned to surprise, a French gentleman sat with us. It was Michou, the Blue Prince himself, owner of Paris' iconic drag cabaret "Chez Michou". We exchanged everything, from pleasantries, business cards, semi-fractured French and selfies. Such is the Parisian cafe culture of easy afternoons and meeting new people! Before we knew it, it was 3pm. Time to excuse ourselves to meet yet another French icon for sunset cocktails. The Eiffel Tower.

Here is my French cafe tablescape with the Sacre Coeur Basilica at a distance. Lively colors like the convivial Monmarte cafes. Quirky strokes like the feeling after a glass of blanc. Overall "Montmatre 'til 3" is just light and happy—exactly like how I felt at that moment. There's something about drawing your travels.

That said, I support workshops that help create new skill sets for the youth. It's life-uplifting, and transformative, just like my art.
